Compliance with Qt LGPL License
StarStaX uses the Qt Toolkit under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 and the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1 (both jointly “LGPL”). The Qt Toolkit is copyright by The Qt Company and/or its subsidiary(-ies) and other contributors.
In order to be in compliance with LGPL, each recipient of the software must receive the full text of the LGPL licenses. StarStaX complies with this requirement by providing the full text of the LGPL licenses in the downloadable software package. In addition, the LGPL licenses can also be viewed at LGPL version 2.1 and LGPL version 3.
Qt includes a variety of additional third party software. The author did not modify any of those component software items, and only uses some of them in the manner that they are provided by The Qt Company. The itemization and license terms for each additional third party software can be found at http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/licenses-used-in-qt.html.
StarStaX dynamically links to the unmodified Qt libraries which are provided by the Qt Project as shared libraries in binary format. Any user can replace the particular version of unmodified Qt libraries that is provided in the StarStaX software package with another version. To do so, the Qt toolkit can be downloaded at https://www.qt.io/download either in pre-compiled binary form or source code which needs to be compiled by the user. Information of the exact version of Qt that is used by StarStaX is available from the menu item “Information about Qt” in the “Help” menu of StarStaX. Instructions on how to compile the Qt toolkit from source are found at https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/build-sources.html.
