  • We were awarded the Main Prize of the German Conference on Pattern Recognition (GCPR) 2013 for our paper on “Efficient Multi-Cue Scene Segmentation”. The corresponding “Daimler Urban Segmentation Dataset” is now publicly available as well.

  • A pioneering achievement: The first autonomous long-distance drive in rural and urban traffic with close-to-production sensors. Mercedes-Benz S-Class INTELLIGENT DRIVE drives autonomously in the tracks of Bertha Benz. Our team was responsible for stereo-vision-based 3D scene understanding.

  • A news release entitled Preise für die Doktorarbeit (German) of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences about the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society Best PhD Dissertation Award and the Uni-DAS Wissenschaftspreis 2012 for my PhD thesis on pedestrian detection.
